Led by the local beliefs of mythical beings, a team of researchers traveled to a remote place in the rain forest of Ecuador to see with their own eyes whether the stories were true. The Aboriginals led the crew to a place they called holy, where the local tribes gathered to celebrate the powerful spirits believed to inhabit the site.
When they reached this sacred place, megalithic structures started to take shape, with the largest being a 260 foot tall by 260 foot wide pyramid with an irregular angle. The structure had been built using hundreds of huge boulders weighing no less than 2 tons. When they inspected the top of the pyramid, the researchers discovered a flat, polished stone probably used as a ceremonial or sacrificial stand.
